Disciplined Life

I have to be honest with you all, I’ve been struggling lately.
I’ve been struggling to stay focused on the things I know I need to accomplish.
I’ve found myself jumping from one thing to the next without truly completing anything.
The problem is I have so much I want to accomplish and I’m having trouble keeping it all together.
I have lacked the discipline to stay focused.
How many can relate to what I’m going through?

I had to step back and ask myself, how do I get through this lack of discipline?
Three specific steps came to mind for me.

1. I admit what the problem is.
I could find a bunch of excuses to cover for why I’ve lacked the discipline to stay focused, but the truth is I’m trying to do too much at one time.
I have fallen into the false belief that I have to get it all done, right now.
2. I prioritize the things I want to accomplish.
If everything is important, then nothing is important.
I need to identify what needs to be completed first and then do it.
3. I put faith in the timing of the One who placed these goals on my heart.
I have to remind myself that God’s timing is perfect, so these goals are not set on my timetable but His timetable.
My job is to be disciplined in working towards achieving that goal.

The truth is, we all can use a little discipline in our lives!
Now I’m in reset mode, going through these steps, so I can fulfill His plan for my life.
What area of your life are you lacking discipline?
