Friday Focus – The Bedrock Principle

Trust is defined as to have confidence, faith or hope in someone or something. Trust in a relationship is me being vulnerable and open enough to believe in the other person. Whether we are talking at home, in the office, at your church or in your school there has to be trust for any relationship to grow.

The truth is that building trust takes time. For me to trust you I have to know your intentions. I have to believe that you have my best interest at heart. The same goes for you being able to trust me. We both have to feel that the other person is not just out for themselves but genuinely cares.

This means showing that we can trust each other through our actions. Trust is not born through the words you speak but through the actions you take. Anyone can talk the talk but do you walk the walk?

If you want to build solid relationships with a foundation of trust then let others know they can trust you through the way you live your life. It is the outward example they see!
