This quote from Zig Ziglar is one I like to reflect on when the unpredictability of life comes calling. Because as much as we would love to control the events of our lives, we understand that is not possible. There are going to be situations we didn’t plan on and they will catch us by surprise. In those moments, what will you do?

You can let the situation dictate your response but where does that lead you? It leads you on a roller coaster of emotions and actions that make you feel even more out of control. Or, you can set your attitude first and let that dictate your response to the situation.

To do this you have to acknowledge that even though this situation caught you off-guard it is not going to change your attitude about life. You know each day is a blessing and even through the turmoil you know there is a great plan for your life. You have to lift your head up, stay positive, and work your way through the difficulty. This chapter may not be one you would have written but it’s far from the end of your story!
