This verse resonates with me because this truly was, and in some ways still is, my story. For the longest I had God’s word in my life and knew of Jesus’ love for me, but I didn’t allow it to grow within me. There were too many thorns in my life choking out those good seeds.
Some of the thorns are what we all experience and it’s called Life. They can take the form of our jobs, friends, hobbies and even our families.
You look at that list and those are not bad things at all, as a matter of fact these are things God blessed us with. But I had to realize that even the things God blessed me with can keep His seed from growing within me and become thorns if I don’t prioritize properly.
Keeping everything in its proper order allows me to enjoy those blessings while at the same time allowing God’s seed to grow within me. It’s still a daily struggle for me, as I’m sure it is for many of you. The key for me is realizing when the priority order is out of whack and then fixing it.
Allow God’s seed to grow within you by prioritizing your life!
