Don’t Be Afraid To Share

I love how God can turn what we may consider a negative, into an opportunity to bless someone else’s life.

Friday evening I got home and I was ready to relax and watch some DirecTV but as I turned my TV an error code appears.
So I jump on the phone and call customer service.
They schedule a technician to come out for a service call on Saturday morning 8 am.

So Saturday morning I’m up playing with the dogs and the technician shows up.
He’s a very nice young man, we exchange greetings and I give him some background info on the problem and he goes to work.
During the course of his troubleshooting he ended up with me in the living room at the main receiver.
As he’s doing his work he starts sharing with me a little about himself.

He shared how his past was a little rough because of choices he had made and how he and his family are going through some rough financial times right now.
I listened to him and shared a few nuggets here and there but mainly I just let him talk and I listened.
Throughout the entire conversation not once did he sound discouraged, even though times are currently rough for him.
As we continued to talk I felt this calling inside of me to share a little of my story and my faith with him.

So as he finished up the service call and was walking to the front door, I shared with him the meaning of my tattoo.
How as long as we have that solid foundation underneath each step we take in life, we will be alright.
I shared how I had not always made the right decisions but now I’m secure in the foundation I have and my life is a reflection of that.

I could see the smile on his face as I shared with him and then I asked if I could pray for him.
He said yes so I laid my hands on him and prayed for him and his wife to know how much God loves them and that the situation they are in is only temporary.
I prayed for them to take each step on a solid foundation and know God wants them to live a blessed and abundant life.
He thanked me as he walked away and I could tell those words had an impact on him.
Once he left I thanked God for allowing me to speak into this young man’s life.

And it all started with a DirecTV receiver that couldn’t reach it’s satellite.
Understand that the things we may see as frustrations or inconveniences could be the things God will use to bring you into someone else’s life at just the right time.
So when those opportunities come, don’t be afraid to share!
Let God’s love shine through you into the life of someone who needs it!
