We should ask ourselves the question in this verse every single time we feel worry coming on.
Is the worry going to add a single moment to my life?
The answer of course is NO!
So why do we let worry invade our lives so much, especially worry over things we have no control over.
I’ve had to ask myself this question often, as I’ve struggled in this area.
For me, it comes down to two things: lack of action and lack of faith.
I admit that my worry often keeps me from taking action.
My worry paralyzes me, turns into fear and keeps me from moving forward.
In those times I have to step back and look at what steps I need to take to calm the worry and fear.
Have I done everything in my power in dealing with this situation, have I taken action?
When I can see there is nothing else I can do, then I have to move onto the next step and that is having faith.
If I’ve done everything in my power, then I know it’s beyond my control.
This is where my faith in the plan God has for my life takes over.
My faith in Him should overcome any worry that I have.
My true faith and belief in His plan for my life should dispel any fear I have.
If you are in constant worry over a situation take a step back and ask yourself these questions.
Have I taken all the action I can in this situation?
Do I have faith in God’s awesome plan for my life?
When you answer YES to both of these questions, worry will no longer invade your life.

I love the balance in this post between taking the action I can and trusting God with what Is beyond my control.
