Change is the act or instance of making or becoming different. It is a transformation or modification; a deviation or variation. Change is becoming something different than what you currently are.

When you look at your life, you could see many areas where you may need to change. It could be in your finances, your relationships, your career, your health, your fitness, the list could go on and on. Each of us has areas where God has called us to make changes, and those things are personal to you and the path God has for your life.

I can reflect on my life and the many changes I had to make as I grew in my relationship with Christ. I’m still making changes today and will be making changes as long as I’m here on this earth. Why is that? Because God’s plan for our lives, if you follow it, requires us to grow. Change is required for you to grow and at that moment when you feel you can no longer change, you will no longer grow.

Change won’t just happen on it’s own because you say you have to change. No, change has to be initiated. You have to take an action step to get it going. If you know your fitness needs to change, you have to take the step towards working out and eating better. If you know the career you are in is not your calling, you have to take the step of looking for a new career. If you know the relationships you are in are negative and harmful, you have to take the steps to correct them or get out of them.

The path God wants you to walk leads to the blessed life He has for you. Walking on this path will grow you in so many ways and it will require you to make changes. And yes, at times those changes will be hard and painful. But once you take that first step towards change, the second, third and fourth steps become easier as you realize you aren’t walking alone!
