Acts of the Apostles 2:28 (NLT), “You have shown me the way of life, and you will fill me with the joy of your presence.”

On Sunday we had a guest pastor at our church who gave a great message. One key point I took away from his message was that we can change the atmosphere of places we are in by our presence. By reflecting the love and joy of Jesus inside of us through our words and actions, we can change the atmosphere of any place or situation.

Wow! So instead of you having to adjust to the tone and atmosphere of an environment, you have the power to dictate what that atmosphere will be like. Did you realize you have that type of power within you? It starts first thing in the morning when you wake up and decide what kind of day you are going to have. When you set your mind to having a great day and reflect that outwardly in your words and actions, you will change the atmosphere of every place you go.

Instead of being reactive to your environment you are now being proactive and setting the tone. If you are full of joy because of what God is doing in your life, show that joy. You don’t have to suppress it because others around you are down and depressed. Whether it’s at home, work, school, whatever the environment, make a decision to change the atmosphere with your positive presence. Then watch others be lifted up because of you. Try it today and see what happens!
