God Makes It Possible

Matthew 19:26 (NLT), “Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.”

This verse came up on one of my devotionals today. It is such a powerful verse I wanted to write on it today. The words written in this verse could help bring so many of us out of pain and suffering if we would just grab onto what it tells us.

Each of you can look back over your lives and find those moments when you were dealing with something you did not think you could get through. When you looked at it from a human perspective, you didn’t see any way out. The obstacle or the pain looked so huge and insurmountable. But you did make it through and whether you realized it or not that was God’s supernatural power helping you through. Throughout the bible there are tales of this supernatural power being displayed in truly visible ways.

In the book of Exodus, in the Old Testament, the Israelites were fleeing the Egyptians after being released by Pharoah and are at the Red Sea. From a human perspective this looked like an impossible situation. The Red Sea in front of them and the Egyptians behind them, they were trapped. But with God on your side you are never trapped. Exodus 14:21-22 says, “Then Moses raised his hand over the sea, and the Lord opened up a path through the water with a strong east wind. The wind blew all that night, turning the seabed into dry land. So the people of Israel walked through the middle of the sea on dry ground, with walls of water on each side. ” God’s almighty power made a way where the Israelites did not see a way.

In the New Testament Jesus performed many miracles that humanly speaking were not possible  I love the story of the disciples out in a boat when a storm comes from nowhere and puts them in serious trouble. To the disciples all looked lost, they did not see a way of making it out of this storm. But again, with God all things are possible. Let us pick up the story in Matthew 14:24-27, “Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves. About three o’ clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the water. When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. In their fear, they cried out, “It’s a ghost!” But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage I am here.”” Jesus then proceeded to calm the storm.

In the midst of your greatest trials Jesus is still with you. He wants to calm the storm for you but you have to believe. No matter how insurmountable things may appear you should never lose faith because you have God on your side. God has shown time and time again how He can take the impossible and make it possible.

So today please know that whatever pain or suffering you are dealing with, even though it may seem like there is no way out, with God there is always a way!
