Share Your Gift

1 Corinthians 12:7, “A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.”

Each of us has been blessed with gifts by God. Do you know that? Remember yesterday’s blog focused on how each of us is a masterpiece created by God. As His masterpiece, you’ve been given special gifts He wants you to use to bless others. There is a special gift inside of you that may not have been uncovered yet. That gift can display itself in many different forms or talents. No matter what the gift, it has been given to you so you can help others and bring glory to God.

Unfortunately, some of you have been told most of your life that you are nothing special. You’ve been made to believe there is nothing you have to offer others. Because of this you haven’t tapped into the gift you have inside of you. You are believing the lie that you have nothing to offer. The gift is inside of you waiting to be released but how do you do that?

First, you have to believe there is a gift inside of you. I know this sounds simple but it is tough for many. This requires you to develop the relationship with God where He can show you the gift He’s placed inside of you. For me, it wasn’t until I started spending personal time with God and reading His word that my gifts were revealed and able to be released. Throughout my life I felt there was something more I was meant to do but I merely couldn’t put my finger on it. I was trying to answer it in the natural. So I tried different things thinking this was my calling, this is where my gift can be used. In the end they didn’t work out as they never felt natural to me. How many of you have felt the same way in your lives? It’s time for you to spend time with Jesus so your gift and the plan to use it as a blessing to others can be revealed.

Second, once your gift is revealed you have to show faith and strength. I say this because many times, the way God wants you to use your gift will be outside of your comfort zone. Where God wants to take you will be someplace new. The people He will have you influence may not be inside your current circle of influence. As you stretch yourself you will need strong faith to get you through and keep you moving forward. Believe Jesus’ words in Matthew 21:21 (NLT), “Then Jesus told them, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen.”

Now you’ve discovered your gift, God’s plan for it and you have belief and faith in it. So the time has come to share it with others. God did not bless you with gifts to keep them hidden. You are meant to share your gift with the world as an example of God’s power and glory. This will help you to fulfill the true purpose God has for you. You will get such joy from using your gift to help bless others while following God’s plan for your life. Today is the day to discover your gift!
