What Is Your Worth?

Ephesians 2:10 (NLT) “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus so we can do good things he planned for us long ago.”

That verse is so powerful! You are God’s masterpiece created to do good things. Think about the miracle of how each of us was created. You started out as small cells that continued to grow and develop. Before long there were fingers, hands, toes, feet, and internal organs. Think about how miraculous your heart and your brain are, how intricately made they are. The spinal cord and nervous system you have allowing you to feel and touch. All of these intricate details were wound together to form the human body you now have. It is awe inspiring when you step back and look at yourself in the mirror. Every breath you take is a miracle when you think of everything working together to provide that necessary breath.

Each of us is a testament to the awesome power of our God. The men and women He created are physical testaments to His power and glory. God took the time to build your physical self but understand He also took the time to build your inner self. The thoughts, feelings and dreams were placed inside you by God. He placed the Spirit within you to help guide your inner self. God truly developed you as a complete masterpiece.

So knowing how much God loves you and views you as His masterpiece, why would you doubt your worth? That is what so many of us do each and every day. You listen to the negative voices telling you how worthless you are. You are not good enough. You will never amount to anything. You have wasted your life. You don’t have what it takes to reach that goal. You are not loved. The list goes on and on of the negative voices used by the enemy. These things start to get in your mind because you hear them for so long. You start to believe these negative voices and forget the priceless masterpiece that you are.

This is where the enemy starts to truly attack you because you are extremely vulnerable when you feel worthless. Before you know it you are falling into drug, alcohol, and sexual abuses. You no longer respect yourself so you don’t feel like others should respect you. Because you no longer see yourself as the masterpiece you truly are, you don’t care what you do to yourself.

The way to break this cycle is to focus back on the true worth you have in God’s eyes. You are a masterpiece to Him, a priceless masterpiece. God created you with a great plan in mind for you life and that plan is still there. It is never too late for God to turn your life around but you have to open your heart and mind to Him. As it says in Romans 12:2 (NLT), “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
You are one of God’s masterpieces and He loves you, today is the day to start believing that truth and treating yourself like the masterpiece you are.

Truth in Love! ~ Chuck
