Monday Motivation!

To start your Monday I’m sharing another excerpt below from the book, Leaders Without Borders, by Doug Dickerson.

I would like to offer up a few questions to help you in the discovery process of understanding what your passion is.

First, what tugs at your heart?
Beneath the exterior shell that others see is something that stirs you.
In leadership, what stirs your heart is likely an area in which you are going to be effective. What tugs at your heart gives you direction as a leader.
Discovering your passion as a leader is about following a passion that likely already exists. It is a calling to causes greater than self.

Second, what is your gift?
Understanding your gift is to know where you fit in the puzzle.
No one person can do it all, but discovering your passion and matching it with your gifts is the way to excel as a leader.
When you discover that passion as a leader your influence will transcend the identity of what you do.
At this level your identity as a leader will be defined by the passion of your heart.

Finally, what is your purpose?
Discovering your purpose leads to your plan; what are you prepared to do about it.
In leadership, many see the value of leading, or desire to lead, but fail to understand its greater purpose.
What is the one thing you are passionate about as a leader? That is what you have to figure out.

Taking a dream and turning it into a reality that defines your passion and purpose is to rise to a level of leadership that separates you from the rest of the pack.
