Tuesday Thought – What Are You Feeding?

I want to encourage you during this time of difficulty we’re in. It will be easy to let things like fear, anxiety and hopelessness creep into our heart, mind and spirit. Things we’re used to having have been taken away. We no longer have free access to many things we took for granted.. People have lost their sources of income and loved ones to this virus. Things can look pretty grim.

This makes it so important to focus on what you feed yourself during this time. While this applies to our physical body, I’m more focused today on our heart, mind and spirit. The same way we may put our bodies on a diet, we need to put our heart, mind and spirit on a diet. We need to feed ourselves faith, joy and hope while starving ourselves of fear, anxiety and hopelessness.

If we focus on the 24-hour news cycle, conspiracy theories and paranoia of others then we’re feeding the fear, anxiety and hopelessness we should be starving. These things will continue to grow in your heart, mind and spirit. But what if you limited the news you digest, focused on things like spending time with your family and growing yourself spiritually. Then you would feed the faith, joy and hope that your heart, mind and spirit desperately need.

Now more than ever we have to be deliberate in protecting our physical, mental and spiritual health. We can’t expect to have peace in our lives if we’re constantly feeding on the wrong things, Yes, even though it may be hard to believe right now, you can find peace in this storm.
