It’s not about ME! I’ve talked about this in previous blog posts and it’s such an important lesson to learn. I have to continually remind myself of this so I don’t fall into being ME-centered.

It’s easy to think the gifts and talents you’ve been blessed with are for your consumption and to take you to the mountaintop alone. It’s easy to focus on your career progression, your status, your position and forget there are those you influence who need your help.

As I’ve said before, we’re all leaders in some form or fashion. We’re leaders at work, school, home, church, etc. There are people you influence who look to you for guidance and direction. They need your help to get to their mountaintop.

Your goal as a leader should not be to stand on the peaks of success alone. Your goal as a leader should be to bring as many people as you can with you to the peaks of success. That is when you know you’re leading.

Shifting the focus from ME to WE can be hard. It can take time and effort. But it’s worth it when you make that shift and you see others succeeding, in part because of your leading them. It’s a great feeling! Today, let what you’ve been blessed with be a blessing to others! Don’t stand on the mountaintop alone!
