One thing I’ve learned in my almost 50 years on this earth is that I can’t do this alone. Life throws too many twists and curves at me. Too many times I’ve ventured out on my own thinking I have it all figured out. It’s at that point life throws me a curveball when I was looking for a fastball. I swing and miss then I’m standing there confused and disappointed.
I finally had to realize I don’t have control of this thing called life. I needed a guide to help me navigate the many different paths that life will take me on. I started relying on the Spirit within me to be my guide. The Spirit now guides me to the destination in life where God wants me to be.
I still struggle with giving complete control of my life to the Spirit. I still at times feel I’m a better navigator for my life, then life throws me another curveball and I’m humbled. So I work every day to give up control and let the Spirit be my guide. It’s tough but I know the Spirit won’t lead me astray. Even though the path may not be what I would’ve chosen, I know with the Spirit as my guide it’s the path God has for me.
Today I encourage each of you to look inward and see who is guiding your life. If you’re doing it alone and continuing to struggle, it’s time to give up control. Put your faith in the plan God has for your life and let the Spirit guide you towards it.
