Have you ever wondered why you love?
It’s such a strong emotion each of us feels, but where did it come from?
More importantly, how do we know to accept it and show it to others?
For most of us, we were first taught love by a parent or guardian, someone who cared for us.
They were the first example of what love meant, and how it felt to receive love.
Because you received love it was easier for you to give it in return, it felt natural.
But as humans, we tend to give love conditionally, meaning only if certain conditions are met.
This conditional love puts limits on who we show love to because of the conditional love we’ve received.
Even the most loving of parents can fall into the conditional love trap.
If you follow this path, choose this direction, always heed my advice, then I will love you more.
Sadly, many children are cut off from their parents because of the limits of conditional love.
This type of love is totally opposite of the unconditional love show to us by our heavenly Father.
T?his type of love says, “no matter what you do, I will never stop loving you!”
He loves you and I despite the bad choices we make, the wrong paths we’ve chosen, and the outright disobedience we show to His commands.
Once you truly feel and believe in His unconditional love for you, it will be easier for you to show unconditional love to others.
The first step is believing there is someone who loves you unconditionally.
This is a huge hurdle for so many because they’ve only known conditional love.
But it’s a necessary step in order for you to truly move to a place where you can love unconditionally.
Then once you feel that unconditional love, you must reflect on it every time you feel yourself falling back into the trap of giving conditional love.
Remember and use the example God gave you by loving you first, unconditionally!!
