Over the past few weeks I’ve taken a step back from posting as much to just enjoy life.
I needed time to just soak in all that God has blessed me with.
During that time I’ve been able to observe a lot going on around me, which is always eye opening.
One common theme I’ve noticed is many people with tremendous gifts and abilities afraid to let them shine.
In the workplace, on the soccer field, and many other places I see this play out in all age groups.
As I reflected on it, I realized this has been me as well, too many times.
Whether it was on the basketball court, in school, in church, at the workplace, etc. I had those times when I was afraid to truly let my gifts and abilities shine.
Most of the time it was fear of failure that kept me from truly living up to my potential.
It was fear of failure that kept me at mediocre and average.
The funny thing is when I finally started moving past the fear of failure I realized it wasn’t something I needed to fear anyway.
Because in the times when I stepped out and I did fail, I was able to pick myself up again and keep moving forward.
The failure didn’t stop me, it actually motivated me to try and try again.
Why is that? Because I believe in the gifts and talents God has blessed me with!
You have to believe you are made for a purpose!
You have to believe you have special gifts and abilities!
You have to believe there are people who need what you have!
You have to believe in His never-ending love for you!
When you can truly believe in these things, then you will be able to truly let your light shine!
