Colossians 1:29 (NLT), “That’s why I work and struggle so hard, depending on Christ’s mighty power that works within me.”
Struggle is something we will all face, I can guarantee you that. There will be times in your life when the path you are following will not be a smooth one. There will be bumps and obstacles on the road. When you encounter these things what will you do? How well will you perform when the road is tough? Is the goal you are pursuing worth enough for you to endure the discomfort and the struggle? It’s during these times when you will find out something about yourself.
Your faith, or lack of faith, will be very evident in these moments. When the struggle comes it’s not time to throw in the towel and give up. Think back over your life and ask yourself how many opportunities you let pass by because you thought they were too difficult to pursue. I can tell you I have my share of missed opportunities.
What I lacked at that time was faith, faith in God and in the abilities He placed within me. I have learned God supplies the strength and support I need to overcome the obstacles and break through the struggles. This is the same thing He provides for each one of you. He will place the people and things you need in your life at just the right time. You have to be ready, willing and open to receive them.
Don’t let struggles keep you from reaching your goals. Don’t let fear of difficulty cause you to stop on the path without finishing the journey. Lean on the words in my favorite verse, Philippians 4:13 (NLT), “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” On the other side of your struggles is the blessing God has for you. Lean on Him to provide the strength you need to conquer those struggles and make them a thing of the past.
