Friday Focus!

Happy Friday all!

Today is the final walk through the Optimism chapter of Doug Dickerson’s book, Leaders Without Borders.

Optimism takes on many forms for a leader, beginning as an inward impression that only the leader can cultivate.
It matures in the face of difficulty and inspires others to come up to your level to believe that anything is possible.

There is no denying that we are living in challenging times.
An optimistic leader adjusts in practical ways to life’s events and in doing so serves as an agent of optimism.

Optimism is an attitude that leaders choose even when the work seems monotonous or difficult.
You may not have chosen the challenges you face today, and while you may be hard-pressed to find anything good in the difficulty of today, I do believe that tragedy and hardship are never wasted, and an optimistic heart and mind will see you through.

While it may seem impossible, some of the most optimistic leaders are those who have in fact overcome great adversity.
Through their perseverance they emerge as the visionaries that organizations want working for them.

Optimism does not prevent difficulties or make you immune from them.
Optimism, however, empowers you to face difficulties with a confidence that gives you an advantage to overcome them.

Now is the time to rise up with courage and be the optimistic leader you were destined to be.
