Good day all, here’s a late afternoon post for your Monday. It’s a continuation through the Optimism chapter of Doug Dickerson’s book, Leaders Without Borders.
An optimistic leader confronts his fears.
I suggest that you not allow fear to paralyze you to the point that you are afraid to take risks. Obstacles along your path may not be of your choosing or creation, but the way in which you confront them is.
An optimistic leader gives others confidence.
As a leader, the confidence that you exude gives cues to your team members. If as a leader you are weighted down by fear and doubt and are not looking to the future, your team will suffer. What does your face say about you?
An optimistic leader looks for the good in all situations.
Sometimes you have to dig through some unpleasant things to find the good, but all things worthwhile require effort. Regardless of how difficult things may appear around you, carry the face that says yes.
An optimistic leader will certainly have moments of being tested.
Not everything will go according to script, so an optimistic leader must also learn to be flexible.
