Living in the D.C. area has given me the opportunity to visit many of the memorials and monuments the city has to offer. One of my favorites is the Martin Luther King Jr memorial. It is a great tribute to a man who had, and continues to have, a tremendous impact on this world and the lives of so many.

The quotes that are featured there give a glimpse into the mind of a man that truly cared about the well being of others. His work for equality and justice and his service to others is an example for all of us.

May we all take a moment today to look at our lives and see how we can serve others better. Let us ask ourselves if we’re using the gifts we’ve been blessed with to positively impact the lives of those around and make a difference.
