Monday Motivation

I finished this book over the weekend and what powerful lessons it has taught me for this season we are in. One of them is the impact that fear has on so many people.

“Fear is sometimes referred to as an acronym for false evidence appearing real. In the case of racism, fear represents an expectation of emotional or physical harm that keeps us from connecting with those that look different from us. Not only is fear a driver of racism, fear is also an ugly by-product of it. When you anticipate that people are going to reject you, hurt you, be offensive toward you, or accuse you, fear will take over and prevent you from engaging them in a meaningful way.”

Let’s not let fear keep us from loving and respecting each other as the brothers and sisters we truly are!
