Consistency is the achievement of a level of performance that does not vary greatly in quality over time. In other words, it means doing something over and over again at the same level for a long period of time.
Often we think of consistency in things like the performance of a star athlete over their career. We marvel at the dedication, commitment and time it took to develop the consistency to perform at that level.
That same dedication, commitment and time is shown by the parent who is consistently there for their children. It’s shown by the leader who is consistently there for those they influence. It’s shown by people who consistently do something every day for their own personal growth.
I’ve noticed three things consistency brings: work ethic, credibility, and results. I develop a stronger work ethic when I consistently do something over and over again. I develop credibility when people see me consistently doing the same thing over and over again. I develop results when I consistently do something over and over again.
My question today is, in what areas of your life do you need to develop consistency?
