Have you ever stepped back and asked yourself, who am I? I’m not talking about where you come from but who you are as a person. What are your assumptions, beliefs and attitude toward others? How do you view your world?
Each of us is shaped by the experiences we live through. Our perspective of the world around us and the people we interact with is tied to those experiences. To truly understand the impact those experiences have on our lives we have to go back to the reflective thinking I wrote about on Tuesday. It’s how we can start to understand ourselves and answer the question, who am I?
It’s important to answer this question because knowing who you are will help you better understand the relationships you have with other people and why you view the world the way you do. It gives you a frame of reference to start from as you work to improve the relationships you have in your life and your view of the world.
Take some time today to find out who you are. Learn more about yourself to help improve the perspective you have. This will benefit you in all areas of your life.
