Jen and I are 2 days into our vacation and one thing we’ve noticed is how at peace we feel. Now many would say this peace comes from being away from the every day hustle and bustle of normal life. Some might even say the peace experienced on vacation is not real because the problems of our normal live’s are still there waiting for us once the vacation is over. I have to agree with both of these assessments because vacation can bring a temporary peace to our lives. But if the only peace we feel is when we’re separated from our day to day life, then we don’t truly have peace do we?
The peace I’m talking about is the peace of knowing who we truly are. It’s the peace of knowing we are loved no matter the faults and flaws that we have. It’s the peace of knowing there is a beautiful plan for our lives that we haven’t accomplished yet. It’s the peace of knowing that our journey through this thing called life is so much better when we have a guide. It’s the peace of knowing that our love for each other and our family provides strength and support. It’s the peace of knowing He is in control always, no matter how bleak the situation may seem.
This is the peace we strive for every day. This is the peace that continues once the vacation is over. This is the everlasting peace only God can bring into your life. But it takes work and it takes faith.
Are you searching for that kind of peace in your life?
