To judge is to form a conclusion or opinion about something or someone.
It’s something we all do, each and every day based off what we see outwardly.
Unfortunately, what we see doesn’t always tell the whole story so we make judgments of people that are unfair.
Think about how many times you’ve gone back and said, “Wow, that first impression I had of that person was totally wrong.”
It wasn’t until you got to know the person, allowed yourself to get past what you saw outwardly, that you were able to see what the person was truly about.
It opened up a new relationship.
That’s the challenge we are presented with each and every day!
The challenge to look at each other the way Christ looked at others.
He saw the heart of the person, not what the outward appearance showed.
To truly do that we each have to step outside of our comfort zones and interact with those who are different.
We have to look past the outward appearance and allow ourselves to get to know the person’s heart.Yes, it’s a difficult task and will take a lot from each of us, but it’s what we are called to do.
Are you willing to accept the challenge?
Are you willing to step outside of your comfort zone and not judge by outward appearances alone?
Let’s all take that step! Are you with me?
