This weekend I was able to reconnect with someone I’ve wanted to sit down and talk with for awhile.
Due to busy schedules, work, life, etc. we just couldn’t connect.
But this weekend circumstances worked out where we were able to sit down and talk.
It was great to be able to do that, and even though it was only about 15-20 minutes it had impact.
We both left that conversation appreciative of the fact we were able to talk.
Reflecting back on that conversation I realized there are a number of other people I’ve wanted to reconnect with.
Friends and family members who I haven’t spoken to for awhile, who have recently been on my mind.
I know many of you probably have those moments also, when people pop into your mind and you ask yourself, “I wonder how they are doing?”
And many times it never goes further than that because you get caught up in what’s going on in your life.
Believe me I know, because that is me far too many times.
But what I realized is in those moments, when I listen to that voice and reach out, it makes a difference.
In those moments when I pause my life to reach out to someone who has come across my mind, I am fed.
I truly believe God places these people in our thoughts because at that moment, they need us and we need them.
The question is, will we reach out? Will we pause our life for a moment?
With all the technology at our disposal (cell phone, texting, Facebook, etc.) do we truly have an excuse?
Today I’m making a list of those who have been on my mind lately and I’m reaching out.
I’m going to let them know I’m thinking about them and I’m here for them.
Sometimes that alone is all someone needs to help them keep moving forward!
