Keys To Success

Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT), “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

Why are some people able to reach high levels in their personal, professional and spiritual lives when others don’t? Is there some magic potion out there that successful people are drinking? As much as many of you would like that answer to be yes, there is no magic potion. Throughout your life God will present you with tremendous opportunities. What you do with those opportunities is completely up to you.

What I can tell you is being aligned with God and the plan He has for your life is a great place to start. To find true success and happiness in every area of your life you have to follow God. You could go on your own and find some level of success in your life without Him but there will always be something missing. So the first step is to listen to God and make sure what you are pursuing is from Him.

Once you have that alignment then it’s time for you to put in the work. What, I have to put in work? But if I’m aligned with what God wants me to do shouldn’t it be easy? Again, many hope the answer to this would be yes but it’s not. God may place the dream or desire on your heart but He expects you to put in the work to achieve it.

You can look at successful sports figures, business people, spiritual leaders, etc. and the one common theme you will find with the majority of them is they had to work to be successful. Unfortunately this is the point where many of you stop. For some reason you fear the work and the sacrifice to get where God wants to take you. To me that means the dream isn’t important enough to you. The prize God has waiting for you at the finish isn’t worth it to you. You have to be honest with yourself and stop making excuses for not reaching the finish.

God has a blessed life He wants to give each of you but you have to do your part to receive it. First and foremost, you have to get aligned with God and His plan for you. Then comes the tough part, you have to be willing to put in the work and sacrifice to get there. There is no secret formula or potion out there that people enjoying the blessed life are drinking. Everything you need to succeed God has given to you. You have to decide to use it!
