2 Thessalonians 3:16 (NLT), “Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all.”
Boy, life really tries to throw you curve balls every day doesn’t it? From the time you wake up in the morning until the time you lay your head down to sleep there are things trying to steal your peace and joy. It could be small things like the alarm not going off on time, your kids running late for school, or the traffic being backed up more than usual. It could also be large things like financial stress, unemployment stress, medical issues, or family issues. The list is long of those things out there you face daily that could steal your peace.
So with all of these things against you how can you possibly keep your peace each day? The answer is simply put in John 16:33 (NLT), “I have told you all this so you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” Our source of peace in these challenging times is Jesus. What a joy to know you have Him standing with you as you face the struggles of life.
It is up to you to fall back on the promises of God when the tough times come. What are you going through today that is continuously stealing your peace? Have you put that difficulty in the proper perspective? So many times you enlarge the problem in your minds because you try to handle it on your own. You lean on your own understanding and unfortunately sometimes that is not enough. So you become frustrated and upset, and the problem has now caused you to lose your peace. The problems you face, while they may be difficult, are completely in God’s ability to handle. You have to bring the problems to Him and let Him guide you through it.
Today is the day to stop letting your peace be taken from you. It’s time to lean on your Father for strength and guidance to face those daily issues. Our God wants you to live each day with a peace on your heart and soul. As it says in Psalms 29:11 (NLT), “The lord gives people strength. The lord blesses them with peace.” When you live in peace, you can be such a huge blessing to others and in that way you are living as God calls you to live.
